Each player must bring an X-Wing core set
and any additional components he needs for
his squad. This includes (but is not limited
to) dice, a range ruler, maneuver templates,
asteroid tokens, and a complete Damage
deck. A player cannot bring more than one

Mulligans WILL be allowed. All

Hello true believers,

Hello everybody please take a moment to read this important message from our proprietor and mutual friend Mark. . . 

Attention Comix City Too Patrons! This post is not directed at anyone and shouldn’t be taken personally, it is addressing a problem. Consider COMIX CITY TOO! a profanity lite zone! Read on please….

 

Thanks to all who came out this weekend to make Games such a success at the shop!<Friday Night Magic, A Vs. X Heroclix Tourney (Sat. morning), Android-Netrunner Store Championship (Sat. night). & Star Wars Attack Wing Store Championship (Sun. evening)> More on these later…

 

On to the subject of this posting- Games are a vital part of the shop! EVERYONE that works here has several favorites and we encourage their play wether its organized or not- That being said, Imagine my surprise last week when a good customer (GOOD because he cares enough to say something about it in hopes that it can be fixed as opposed to just getting annoyed and/or offended never coming back in!) complained that the gamers were ‘riotous’ and VERY vulgar. He was shopping with his kids in tow and very offended by their conduct.

 

Now I know we are prone to exclamations of awesome or disgust in the course of our games- we’re human and that can be expected and no one is gonna hold an occasional slip/shout when you roll double sixes or draw a land when you really needed a ‘good’ card – But I know some of the gamers around here have become accustomed to talking like they are in a Quentin Tarantino movie! You should especially be aware of other store patrons.

 

The obvious solution, someone suggested, was a ‘swear jar’. This is not a solution- it implies that paying for it makes it OK. Paying a quarter for every swear word doesn’t make it OK for you to drop the ‘f-bomb’ while someone is in the shop with their children! The solution is getting rid of Bad Language Habits and/or the people that can’t make an effort to keep their language ‘PG-13″.

 

Thats the bottom line guys (not just gamers- but folks in general just hanging around!)- If I (or anyone that works, plays, or shops at CCT!) overhears or/is distracted by your ‘potty-mouth’ we’ll bring it to your attention and give you a warning about it. If it persists, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SHOP FOR A WEEK, or until you can practice some clean communications skills. Repeated violations will just outright get you banned. We ain’t play’n here- Your foul mouth DOES HURT THE SHOP’S BUSINESS– and we’ll issue restraining orders to protect it. (Which i really HATE the thought of- I’m trying to promote a positive community here. Exiling anyone from it, seems counterproductive- even hypocritical! ‘The good of the many’ however, is going to have to trump ‘complete personal liberties’.

“Capture the flag”
– for this event your games will go a maximum of 10 rounds or 70 minutes our until your opponent is destroyed
– you will get one point for each round you end in possession of “the flag”
– the flag will start in the dead center of the board
– each ship will have a “capture the flag” action it can do when it is with in range one of the flag token or the ship with the flag
– to perform the “capture the flag” action you can not be cloaked and must disable all remaining shields you
– when a ship has the flag it can only do green maneuvers (if it has no green maneuvers it does 1 forward)
– when a ship has the flag it skips its action and attack phases
– when a ship has the flag it can raise its shields

3/29/2014 – AvX Month 3

400 Point Booster Draft/Constructed

Players will purchase one HeroClix five-figure booster of their choice from their store. Any player who has already declared a faction will continue to fight for that faction. Any new players must declare for either Avengers or X-Men.

 

Players will bring at least one figure and no more than 300 points from their chosen faction’s AvX starter set. Players will then utilize a combination of the contents of their booster, AvX participation reward figures (e.g. Danger, Black Panther, etc.), and their selected starter set characters to finalize their 400 point team.

 

No tactics aside from the Phoenix Force resource and fragments may be used (so no theme teams).

 

Upon completion of the event, faction points will be determined based on the top X number of players from each faction, where X equals the smaller of the two factions. These faction points are important because the top two players of the winning faction and the top player of the losing faction will earn an LE figure at the end of all the AvX events.

 

For month 3, White Phoenix Hope LE’s will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The first 10 registered Avengers players who complete the event will earn a Professor X LE figure. The first 10 registered X-Men players who complete the event will earn a Hope LE figure. Additionally, the first 20 registered players who complete the event will earn a Emma Frost Fragment 3D Special Object (for use with the Phoenix Force Resource Dial).

3/29/2014 – AvX Month 3

400 Point Booster Draft/Constructed

Players will purchase one HeroClix five-figure booster of their choice from their store. Any player who has already declared a faction will continue to fight for that faction. Any new players must declare for either Avengers or X-Men.

 

Players will bring at least one figure and no more than 300 points from their chosen faction’s AvX starter set. Players will then utilize a combination of the contents of their booster, AvX participation reward figures (e.g. Danger, Black Panther, etc.), and their selected starter set characters to finalize their 400 point team.

 

No tactics aside from the Phoenix Force resource and fragments may be used (so no theme teams).

 

Upon completion of the event, faction points will be determined based on the top X number of players from each faction, where X equals the smaller of the two factions. These faction points are important because the top two players of the winning faction and the top player of the losing faction will earn an LE figure at the end of all the AvX events.

 

For month 3, White Phoenix Hope LE’s will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The first 10 registered Avengers players who complete the event will earn a Professor X LE figure. The first 10 registered X-Men players who complete the event will earn a Hope LE figure. Additionally, the first 20 registered players who complete the event will earn a Emma Frost Fragment 3D Special Object (for use with the Phoenix Force Resource Dial).
