WARHAMMER 40K TOURNEY
The Gothic sector is under siege by the forces of Chaos and the other enemies of mankind. It is time for the heroes of the Imperium to rise up and defend the vital star port!!
This is going to be a 1000 point tournament on August 21 at 12pm. Registration from 12 to 12:30 with round one starting at 12:45. This will be a 3 round event that will allow lists from Warhammer 40k & 30k. The only restriction on your lists will be no lords of war. We will have a small entry fee of $10
BOLT ACTION LEAGUE
First day of the Bolt Action Ladder Campaign! This is an escalation league to learn the new 2nd edition of Bolt Action. Bolt Action Ladder Campaign Rules • This is an escalation league o Phase one – 500 points o Phase two – 750 points o Phase three – 1000 points • Each player in the league must play a minimum of one game. • Players will sign-up and will be ranked according to when they sign-up; for example if Richard Smoker is the first to sign up then he’ll be rank one, Joe Blow signs up next he’ll be rank two, and so on. • If a lower rank player defeats a higher rank player then they swap places on the ladder, if the higher rank player wins then he’ll move up on rank on the ladder. Number one will stay at the top if he wins; when a game ends in a draw then both players remain at their current rank. • If a player fails to play a game during the phase then he’ll drop to the bottom of the ladder. • At the end of Phase Three the player at the top of the ladder will be the
league champion. Army Lists • Players must use the same list during each battle. • The army lists should be from any army selector with the years 1942-1943 in the title of the list. If the list has 1944 or later in the title it may not be used. So, a 1943-‘44 list would not be allowed. • When the phase advances you may add up to 250 points to your current army list. Phases and Games • Each phase of the campaign will last one month. • The games can use any of the printed scenarios from the Bolt Action rule book, or theater books. Both players must agree on the scenario before the game starts. • If you can’t make it to Comic City Too to play or report a game you may send your results to Lynch Beachboard at twodogz79@gmail.com Models • Players should have their models painted and ready for play during league games. There will be hobby days at Comic City Too once a week.

Comix City Too!’s Spectacular Free Comic Book Day 2016
Free Comic Book Day is just around the corner, and your friendly neighborhood comic shop, Comix City Too!, is beyond excited to have you stopping by to pick up your free comics! Free Comic Book Day is May 7th this year, and we will be opening extra early so you can start shopping at 9AM, and we will be open until 10PM. Besides free comic books, we will be having sales in almost every department in the store (details coming soon), so come ready to shop. We will have OVER 3000 free comics for you to select from, ranging from all ages (DC Superhero Girls) to mature books (We Can Never Go Home/Young Terrorist) and everything in between those. We will also have Magic the Gathering decks to give away along with Warhammer and D&D demos!
A Few Titles to look forward to picking up:
- Valiant 4001AD – Matt Kindt and Clayton Crain will be writing Valiant Comics 2016 summer event. Every two years Valiant has an epic crossover event, and this year’s event starts in this Free Comic Book Day special.
- Suicide Squad #1 – Are you hyped for the Suicide Squad movie coming out on August 5th? This reprint of issue #1 from the graphic novel Suicide Squad Vol 1: Kicked In The Teeth is written by Adam Glass and art by Marco Rudy, will definitely get you more excited for the movie.
- Assassins Creed – Titan Comics is releasing an Assassins Creed comic for the first time for Free Comic Book Day this year. This issue will feature two stories about Charlotte De la Cruz and the Templars Black Cross. Assassin’s Creed has one ongoing series at the moment, and a second one on the way, so this will be a great new jumping on point for any fan of comics and the video game franchise.
- Civil War II #1 – Captain America: Civil War comes out on the 6th, and the following day Civil War II #1 comes out as a free comic book day special! Written by Brian Michael Bendis and art by Jimmy Cheung. Before hero stands against hero, you can have a taste of the coming war, and find out what will split the Marvel Universe in two.
- Bob’s Burgers Free Comic Book – The Belcher Family returns for another Free Comic Book day special with the wild antics of Tina, Gene, Louise and their parents Bob and Linda. Just like the show, this comic will be full of laugh out loud humor, hilarious adventure, and maybe even a Gene musical.

DC Rebirth
DC Rebirth starts in just a few months! The events of Rebirth begin in the DC special, DC Rebirth #1 (Out May 25th), which is a spectacular 80 page book with a price tag of $2.99, but, that’s not the best news! DC Comics has made the promise that all Rebirth books will a whopping $2.99 and most titles will also ship twice monthly. With the sticker price of $2.99 and shipping twice monthly this means you’ll be getting two books for the price of one Marvel or Image book, which is a fairly interesting marketing strategy. DC Universe: Rebirth goes on sale on June 1st, and will continue and improve stories from New 52 but will also be renumber some series to their original numbering, like with Detective Comics starting with issue #934.
A few series to look forward to include: Batman, Batman: All-Star, Supergirl, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Trinity
Batman – Written by superstar writer, Tom King (Grayson, The Omega Men, and Futurama), and illustrated by legendary artist, David Finch ( Forever Evil, Wonder Woman, and Batman: The Dark Knight). Can Batman protect Gotham in this new series? Can he remain the top guardian to the most broken city in comics? Pick up the twice monthly series hitting our shelf on June 15th!
All-Star Batman: Batman writer Scott Snyder continues his run on The Caped Crusader with an all new ongoing series mixing Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Defiant Ones (what’s not to love about that?!) featuring an all star cast of artist including John Romita Jr., Jock, and Declan Shalvey just to name a few. Snyder has teased that he’s ready to completely redo Two-Face and make him terrifying and a modern take on a literary classic, Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. All Star Batman #1 hits our shelf in August!
Supergirl: Written by Steve Orlando (Midnighter) and drawn by Brian Ching ( Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic), this series features Kara working with the DEO ( Department of Extraterrestrial Operations) and juggling her life as a “normal” high school student but also being a superhero. Kara will find it harder and harder to make the right decisions. Be sure to pick up this issue starting on September 7th!
Aquaman: Written by acclaimed writer Dan Abnett and artist Brad Walker comes the next chapter in Aquaman. “The Drowning” which kicks off with a ferocious story between Aquaman and his arch nemesis Black Manta. Black Manta is setting into motion a plan to destroy Aquaman, his family, and everything he believes in. Be sure to pick up Aquaman #1 starting on June 8th, and this book will be hitting on shelves twice a month!
Wonder Woman: Praised writer Greg Rucka returns to Wonder Woman along side artists Liam Sharp, Nicola Scott and Paulo Siqueria. Wonder Woman will be two separate stories in one, the first story being “The Lies” and the second story being “Wonder Woman: Year One.” The first story starts with Diana learning that many “truths” that she has believed in for so long, have turned out to be lies, leading her to search for the truth. “Wonder Woman: Year One” will be a unique retelling of Wonder Woman’s origin story. Be sure to add this book to your pull or come in and pick it up on June 24th!
Trinity: Writer and artist Francis Manupul (The Flash, Detective Comics and Justice League: Darkseid War) brings us his take on the DC Trinity, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Manupul mentions that Wonder Woman will have a large role in Trinity and that she will be seen as the glue that holds Batman and Superman together. Be sure to pick up Trinity #1 when it hits shelves on August 10th!
